A warm welcome to West Primary School
West Primary School is a busy non-denominational school situated at the West End of the town of Paisley. Our catchment area is extensive and includes children of a wide range of abilities and different experiences from a variety of social backgrounds. The building dates from 1938, and having previously housed a Secondary department, as well as the Primary department, is large and affords accommodation not only for our 21 classes for 460 pupils but also a nursery class, a Language Centre, Right 2 Dance, a Community Education Wing and the Maxwellton Park Nursery.
Here in West we aim to provide a balanced, structured programme of learning which will allow every child to progress at his or her own pace while ensuring equal opportunities for all. The staff at West Primary will try at all times to provide a quality service for every child. We try to provide a safe and secure environment where effective teaching and learning can take place. We also try to work in partnership with parents to create trust and understanding to help all children achieve their full potential. As such we hope that parents feel confident that they can contact the school at any time if they have any concerns regarding their child's education or any matters concerning the care and welfare of their child.
